BRUCE GLOVER, RUFUS Then, in 1970, he landed the coveted role of Mr. Wint in the classic James Bond thriller DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. The movie became the top grossing film around the world for the year 1971, and it was the last official Sean Connery Bond film. The role brought Bruce world-wide fame as an actor, and to this day he still gets stopped on the street by fans and asked to do his signature line from the film. The 1970’s saw Bruce appearing in several classic films…CHINATOWN, WALKING TALL and HARD TIMES (Walter Hill’s directorial debut). He took on Jim Brown in BLACK GUNN, was beaten up by THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, and harassed by Ponch in CHIPS. The 1980’s saw more of the same, with Bruce alternating between juicy guest starring roles and all kinds of feature films. In the 1990’s, Bruce started to teach acting regularly, with an unusual methodology that goes against some conventional tenants of the craft. His creativity also flowed into another field…painting. Bruce is an accomplished artist, and his paintings have been featured in gallery showings and art books around the world. He is also in pre-production on a film he will direct, starring his son Crispin and himself. Bruce Glover is
that rare breed in the late 2000’s…a consummate professional character
actor who is proud to be a character actor. His body of work is certainly
impressive, but even more impressive is Bruce’s belief that his best
performance is yet to come.
